Getting started
Up and running in about two minutes.
There's nothing to install and no account to create. Open the app, start texting yourself, and press a button at the end. Here's the whole flow.
The shortcut: you can skip all of this and just start typing. Everything below is optional polish — capture works the second the app opens.
The basic flow
- Open the app Go to dumpdraft.com. It opens straight to a chat thread — that's your capture screen. No sign-in required.
- (Optional) Pick a mode and name the event In Setup, choose a mode — Conference, Travel, Memory, Party, Planning, or General — and give the event a name and dates. This shapes the tag chips and the kind of write-up you'll get. You can change it anytime.
- Text yourself throughout the day In Capture, fire off short messages whenever a thought lands. Type or tap the mic to speak. Don't overthink it — messy is fine.

Drop a
#tagto steer the write-up or an@Nameto build a people list. The suggested chips change per mode. Untagged notes still count. - Generate your write-up In Report, press Generate draft for an instant offline document, or use the AI write-up for polished prose. Then copy, download, or share it.
Handy conventions

Add it to your home screen
DumpDraft is a Progressive Web App, so you can install it like a native app — it then opens full-screen and works offline.
iPhone / iPad
Open dumpdraft.com in Safari → tap the Share button → Add to Home Screen.
Android
Open dumpdraft.com in Chrome → menu (⋮) → Add to Home screen / Install app.
Desktop
In Chrome or Edge, click the install icon in the address bar to run it in its own window.
Once installed, you can also share text and photos into DumpDraft from other apps, and (optionally) get gentle capture reminders.
Getting the write-up
When you're ready, head to the Report tab:
⚡ Generate draft
Builds a structured document instantly, offline, from your notes. Then Copy Markdown, Download .md, print to PDF, or share.
✨ AI write-up
Want polished prose? Copy the AI prompt into your preferred or org-approved assistant, or generate it in-app when signed in. Each generated write-up stays with the event it was made for.
Keeping your notes safe
Your notes live on your device. To move them or keep a copy, use Setup → Your data → Export, or turn on encrypted cloud backup to protect against losing a device. Details on the Privacy page.
